Near Genkai are several historic shrines where the Shichi-Go-San (7-5-3) ceremony is performed, including the nearby Hanazono Shrine with which we share a long connection.
Many families visit Genkai for a celebratory meal after their visit to the shrine.
To nurture your child’s developing palate, we prepare each dish with utmost care—considering the harmony of flavor, texture, and color.

Celebrate a time-honored Japanese tradition at Genkai.
The Okuizome ceremony, also known as the “Hundred-Day Celebration,” is held around the 100th day after a child’s birth.
It symbolizes the wish that the child will “never go hungry throughout life.”
Each dish carries its own meaning — the “Hagatame-ishi” (teething stone), red rice, and sea bream are arranged to pray for your beloved child’s healthy and happy growth.
